What’s The Difference Between REVFIT and Orange Theory, REVFIT and F45, or REVFIT and Crossfit?

Video Transcript:

I get asked a lot: what is the difference between REVFIT and an Orange Theory (OTF) or REVFIT and an F45, or REVFIT and a Crossfit?

So I'm going to attempt to answer all of those in this short video.

REVFIT vs Orange Theory (OTF)

So we'll start right off the bat with Orange Theory (OTF). REVFIT is more of a strength focused workout. We still have a cardio aspect, but it is not our main focus. We focus on real strength.

Now, Orange Theory (OTF), I love them. I actually used to work for them back in the day. I know their program very intimately. It is a cardio focused program.

And I'm not just talking about when you're on the treadmill. I'm also talking about when you're on the floor. At Orange Theory there's a lot of what I'd call “movement disguised as strength training.” Strength training requires certain protocols. You need rest. You need to do a hard set, with a hard set being getting maybe two reps away from muscle failure. This forces your body to build strength and build lean muscle. We allow you to do that at REVFIT.

So you're not going to see a treadmill and you're not going to be pushed to just constantly work. We want hard work and hard rest.

REVFIT vs F45

So another group fitness gym that we get compared to quite a bit is F45, and that's completely fair. I consider F45 more of a boot camp, and that is great. A lot of people love that type of workout.

A bootcamp is typically more of a nonstop format with very minimal rest. When we're talking about strength training and building into something, you have to have something called progressive overload. You need to repeat certain things over time, and like I said before, you also have to rest. You have to work hard and rest hard. You need rest. There are times we workout at REVFIT and you're going to rest for a full 60 seconds before you do another set.

That is OK. That is how to build strength, and that is how your body will change.

The other thing that is different about REVFIT compared to F45 is we are on a microphone F45 trainers will not use a microphone. We have a microphone at REVFIT  for a specific reason. The microphone allows my trainer to get hands on with one person, but also coach the entire other side of the room at the same time. It allows more flexibility and a lot more touches inside our workout space.

REVFIT vs Crossfit

And last but not least, how is REVFIR different from CrossFit?

I love CrossFit. I love watching the CrossFit games. Those people are amazing, right? Holy moly! With that, my belief in fitness is that you keep it simple.

The thing is, you will be picking things off the ground for the rest of your life. A squat is a squat. You're going to be sitting in chairs for the rest of your life. You're going to be doing pull-ups where you're reaching and pulling down. You're going to be doing all sorts of movements that are just basic patterns that you'll see all day every day.

We keep it simple here. We don't focus on Olympic lifting. We focus on what has worked day in and day out forever, and that's what we want. We want to create a space that you can come in, and build strength through exercises that are not super complicated. The goal is to get stronger, keep it basic, and progressively overload your body so you see change.

REVFIT Differences in General

The last thing that makes us a little different are my trainers.

All trainers who are coaching at REVFIT have 5 years or more of experience as personal trainers. They know their stuff in general, but I also keep them in constant education. They are constantly learning more and more. I actually learned this from another gym that I used to work at. It was 140 hours of continuing education. We do the same thing at REVFIT. REVFIT trainers are constantly learning because I'm constantly bringing in experts for them to learn from.

And not only that, but for the workout program itself, I find physical therapists that I absolutely love and they help write the program, things that they wish people would do on a weekly basis.

And we implement that in the workouts. So not only will you get strong, but your joints will work a little bit better. You'll be able to move lighter and feel better.

Summary

So those are the big differences at REVFIT. There's more listed down below, but I wanted to give you quick highlights about what makes us different from those three popular group fitness gyms: Orange Theory (OTF), F45, and Crossfit.

I hope this helps! Again, I'm a big fan of “if it gets you off your butt, go do it.” So maybe those studios are for you, but this is what REVFIT does. We focus on the body, we get it strong. We focus on the mind. We get those both strong and we focus on your spirit..so it's unbeatable.

Come try REVFIT, it's a real program with real personal trainers.
